THE BEST SOUTH INDIAN FOOD IN MOTOWN! How many Indian restaurants around metro Detroit have won “The Best Restaurant” award four years in a row? I guess NONE. That should really say something about Prakash (the owner) and his fantastic chef who manage this restaurant so well. They give no heed to competition. They just passionately make the best food they can and that wins our hearts. A must visit!
What a wonderful little restaurant!! Food was ABSOLUTELY on point, hot and sooooo delicious! Owner was so pleasant, treated us like family. HIGHLY recommend their Gobi Manchurian, absolutely to die for! I could eat plate after plate of it. Come visit this little gem, you won’t regret it!

Decided to try a new Indian restaurant and Red Chillies was on my radar. Peter, one of the owners, greeted us warmly and was very attentive to our questions about the menu and spiciness of the dishes. He explained that the sauces and everything was prepared fresh in his restaurant. I appreciated knowing that. He made suggestions for what to try so we had few appetizers: veggie samosa, gobi manjoorian and chicken 65. All were very tasty and I went with mild plus for spice. We tried the king fish, chicken tikka masala and chicken saag. The garlic naan was very good also. There was an unending bowl of rice… very plentiful. Definitely had left overs to take home. The food was very flavorful full with just a touch of spice. Peter was very friendly and made suggestions of food for future visits. Looking forward to trying a new dish next time I visit. will definitely return again and bring friends with me next time.
I love Indian food but didn’t feel like going out. Ordered from Grubhub. The vegetable samosas were good, but didn’t come with any kind of dipping sauce. Ordered Butter Chicken and rice. The sauce was delicious and spicy but the chicken was just sliced chicken breast and was dry and flavorless. Butter chicken is usually thighs. Ordered a side of naan and it was one small piece and was not good. Ordered a side of raita and it was literally cole slaw dressing (had carrots and cabbage in it). Threw it in the garbage. The side of tamarind was the best part. Not authentic (or good) Indian food. Will not order again. It’s not the worst I’ve had, but definitely not great.
The porotas are amazing. Chicken Porichathu and Meen Pollichathu were great. Definitely recommend this place! The owner is very hospitable and will explain the menu well.
Great atmosphere and very great service! I started with the samosas as I usually do when I eat Indian, these were just ok. I would suggest a different appetizer. Then I got the Malai kofta and some naan which were both pretty average, but still good! They have numbers by everything on the menu so it's easy to order if you can't pronounce the item. 5 star service, 3.5 star food. Still worth a visit, the prices are very reasonable.
This was our first time ever trying this type of cuisine, and it was delicious. Peter was very welcoming, pleasant and very knowledgeable from the time we stepped in the door. We had the chili chicken appetizer to start our experience, it was absolutely amazing and I will be ordering it again. Then like I stated we had never had this type of food before but we didn’t need to worry, Peter was there to help us out with delicious Recommendations. I selected The chicken tikka masala and my husband had the Butter chicken. Both very delicious. The atmosphere was very nice it was a cute little dine in restaurant, and the service was outstanding. Peter even asked us our names and addresses us by them for the rest of the evening. Looking forward to returning again in the near future and trying more of the menu options.
